He did his research b studying and watching the light change on different flowers such as tulips. The colours of the dresses are very vibrant and come alive on the runway.  Galliano is a Genious and I am in awe of him!!!!

Versace Resort 2011 Collection

I love the Versace Resort 2011 Collection. It’s very 60s inspired, full of vibrant Pop Art colours. Its very Mad Men inspired.  I especially love the shoes!!!! Ultimately what made this collection for me is the color scheme of Orange, Pink, Mint, Pistachio and Lilac which are the Versace signature.

Chanel Cruise 2011 collection in Saint-Tropez!!

The models walking for Chanel’s Cruise collection 2011 walked on  Saint-Tropez’s famous Sénéquier mostly barefoot, wearing seventies diaphanous caftans, long crocheted dresses, ruffle-lapelled silk jersey trouser suits, and patchwork denim skirts.  The collection is very casual and down to earth and the pieces ooze lightness. The collection is quite large. Here are some pieces:

On day two at the Australia Spring/Summer 2010 Fashion Week, Camilla and Marc, Zimmermann, Sara Phillips, Little Joe Woman, Flannel, Nicola Finetti, Alex Perry and Ellery all showed their collections.

However the highlight of day two was Alex Perry’s “Arabian Princess” show, which was one of the biggest shows that Australia has ever had in years. Perry, who is of Greek Australian descent is one of the industry’s highest profile designers, celebrated a big milestone with this show: 20 years in fashion!!! He joined forces with two other Greek Australians, make-up artist guru Napoleon Perdis and hairdresser Renya Xydis for his show. The make-up and hair of  the models who showcased Perry’s designs was Amazing!!!  The show was spectacular and huge in every scale. Over 1300 guests and every Australian Celebrity and Fashionista were at his show.

Here are some photos from his show:

Albania Fashion Week Day 2!

Local designers such as Geraldina Sposa  mixed with Italian fashion creators Carmine Napolitano and Giuseppina Marrone showcased their collections at the second day of  Tirana’s 2010 Albania Fashion Week. The local designer’s collections are a ‘nice effort’ in creativity!  The Albanian designers have yet to break into the international fashion market in any real sense, but they’re still giving it a yearly shot, and putting on a show.  Here are some photo’s from the runways. First 3 pieces are from the Carmine Napolitano and Giuseppina Marrone collections; followed by creations by Geraldina Sposa.

Australia Spring/Summer 2010 Fashion week May 3-7th! Avatar Sensation– Camilla Franks!!

Rosemount Australian Fashion Week Spring Summer 2010/11 kicked off  on Monday May 3rd and will take place until Friday, May 7th against the spectacular backdrop of Circular Quay in Sidney Australia. A selection of Australia’s and Asia Pacific’s best designers will showcase their Spring/Summer collections. Designer Lisa Ho kicked off Australian Fashion Week with a show at the Art Gallery of NSW. Other designers who showed their collections on Monday included  Ginger & Smart, Seventh Wonderland, Lucette, Zambesi, Rachel Gilbert and Aurelio Costarella,. Camilla Franks, actress-turned designer, known as a flamboyant designer was inspired by the 3rd movie Avatar and had her models in heavy colorful eye make up and had some of the models in blue Na’vi body paint. With her collection she transported the audience into the depths of Pandora with vivid fabrics and flowing silhouettes. Her show featured Aboriginal model Samantha Harris painted like a Na’vi princess in fierce fluorescent hues. The make-up artist for the show was celebrity make-up artist Napoleon Perdis. The show was very tribal and rich in color. Her colorful prints exploded on the runway and  inspired an escape to another world. I have also included a pics of the designer with her models and her and the make-up artist backstage at the show. Enjoy these beautiful pieces from her collection.
