Local designers such as Geraldina Sposa mixed with Italian fashion creators Carmine Napolitano and Giuseppina Marrone showcased their collections at the second day of Tirana’s 2010 Albania Fashion Week. The local designer’s collections are a ‘nice effort’ in creativity! The Albanian designers have yet to break into the international fashion market in any real sense, but they’re still giving it a yearly shot, and putting on a show. Here are some photo’s from the runways. First 3 pieces are from the Carmine Napolitano and Giuseppina Marrone collections; followed by creations by Geraldina Sposa.

Rosemount Australian Fashion Week Spring Summer 2010/11 kicked off on Monday May 3rd and will take place until Friday, May 7th against the spectacular backdrop of Circular Quay in Sidney Australia. A selection of Australia’s and Asia Pacific’s best designers will showcase their Spring/Summer collections. Designer Lisa Ho kicked off Australian Fashion Week with a show at the Art Gallery of NSW. Other designers who showed their collections on Monday included Ginger & Smart, Seventh Wonderland, Lucette, Zambesi, Rachel Gilbert and Aurelio Costarella,. Camilla Franks, actress-turned designer, known as a flamboyant designer was inspired by the 3rd movie Avatar and had her models in heavy colorful eye make up and had some of the models in blue Na’vi body paint. With her collection she transported the audience into the depths of Pandora with vivid fabrics and flowing silhouettes. Her show featured Aboriginal model Samantha Harris painted like a Na’vi princess in fierce fluorescent hues. The make-up artist for the show was celebrity make-up artist Napoleon Perdis. The show was very tribal and rich in color. Her colorful prints exploded on the runway and inspired an escape to another world. I have also included a pics of the designer with her models and her and the make-up artist backstage at the show. Enjoy these beautiful pieces from her collection.
